In August 2016, Robinson and Griffin McElroy started the series Car Boys on the Polygon YouTube channel,[7] a weekly series that aired on thursdays[8] where Robinson and McElroy played the 2015 game BeamNG.drive.[9] The series ended in May 2017 and had a total of 38 episodes. During its run, the series was well-received, and Jalopnik's Raphael Orlove said that it's the 'only YouTube [series] worth watching'[10] and Popular Mechanics' Andrew Moseman stated that the series had 'great BeamNG[.drive] videos.'[11] Wired's Julie Muncy stated that Robinson and McElroy make some of the 'funniest videogame stuff on YouTube'.[12] Robinson and McElroy also hosted the series Touch the Skyrim.[13] In March 2017, Robinson was in an episode of Too Embarrassed to Ask.[14]
Following Robinson's criticism of the Nintendo Switch port of Overcooked, a former Polygon employee stated that she had been sexually harassed by Robinson through Twitter.[13] This caused numerous other females in the gaming industry to further back the claim by sharing their history with Robinson.[15] Robinson later made a statement about the accusations and apologized for his actions.[16] A few weeks after Robinson's apology, he returned to actively using Twitter,[17] which he was criticized for.[18]
After Robinson's sexual harassment allegations, Robinson was suspended from Polygon and was pending 'a thorough Vox Media inquiry'.[3] Robinson was later released from Polygon as announced by the senior vice president of the website, Chris Grant, in a now-deleted tweet.[19]
