When I went to purchases in the app store to reinstall, the button still said 'open.
- Upon playing back an old track, I here no sound and am alerted that core audio is unavailable. I assume that this is the root of my problem. I do not see 'built in' input our output devices in my settings or audio midi setup. My audio on there programs has been working since I installed voodooHDA.kext.
- Use GarageBand to Record Audio on Mac. GarageBand is a wonderful app that comes as pre-installed in most Mac computers. If it is not available on your MacBook then you can get it from Mac App Store. GarageBand is an app for playing, recording and editing audio at free of cost.

Have you refreshed the Purchases tab with ⌘R after deleting GarageBand? Otherwise it may not be showing as uninstalled.
If you reloaded the AppStore, and it still is showing 'Open'the try to find out, why Spotlight is still seeing GarageBand as installed. Check the Applications folder, if you just dragged an alias to the Trash. Or if you have a copy of GarageBand on a connected backup drive?

Which version of GarageBand have you been using? GarageBand 10 is now free. You can reinstall by purchaseing it for free from the main page of the AppStore.
