Apple Mail, also known simply as the Mail app, is the default email client on. Open the Mail app. Choose Mail Preferences, then click General. Choose an email app from the ”Default email reader” menu. You may be prompted to add an email account before you can change the setting in Mail.
How to change your default web browser
- I've read lots of great things about Fantastical and finally bought it. The advantage it has over default Calendars is that it shows Reminders with times inline with calendar events. That's great, but I've also noticed that it's quite laggy when I go from the complication to the native app.
- Fantastical comfortably tops the list with the best user interface for any calendar app for the Mac. The animations are smooth, and the whole experience is quick, fluid, and responsive. My favorite function about Fantastical is the ability to create an event from the ‘+’ menu quickly.
- In order to change the default mail client, you need to open the Mail app. Don’t worry if you do not have any email account set up. Once the app is open, go to its preferences (tap Command+,). On the General tab, there’s a dropdown called ‘Default email reader’. Open it, and select a different email client.
- Make sure the other web browser is installed.
- Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click General.
- Choose a web browser from the ”Default web browser” menu.
How to change your default email app
- Make sure the other email app is installed. Although you may be able to use a web browser for email (webmail), a web browser isn't an email app.
- Open the Mail app.
- Choose Mail > Preferences, then click General.
- Choose an email app from the ”Default email reader” menu.
You may be prompted to add an email account before you can change the setting in Mail. If you don't want to do that, check the preferences of the other email app. You may be able to set a default email app from there.
